These air fryer ribs are the ultimate treat for a quick fakeaway. Brushed with rich BBQ sauce and ready in under 30 minutes, they’re tender, flavourful, and lip-smacking. Perfect for satisfying those comfort food cravings without the fuss.

Ingredients

1 x 500g pork rib rack, cut in half
For the dry rub:
2 tablespoons light or dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon chilli powder
2 teaspoons ground paprika
1 teaspoon dried garlic powder or granules
1 teaspoon dried thyme
½ teaspoon dried onion powder or granules
To glaze:
5 tablespoons prepared BBQ sauce

Method

Step 1

In a small bowl mix the dry rub ingredients togetherPreheat the air fryer to 190°C. 

Step 2

Put the rib racks on a clean chopping board and season all over with salt and pepper. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of the dry rub on both sides of the racks and transfer to the air fryer. Store any remaining rub in a sealed container or jar. 

Step 3

Cook the ribs for 10 minutes, turn halfway and continue to cook for a further 10 minutes. 

Step 4

Pull out the basket and brush the ribs all over with the prepared BBQ sauce.  Set the air fry to 200°C and continue to cook the ribs for a further 3-4 minutes. 

Step 5

Remove from the air fryer, brush with any remaining BBQ sauce and serve with sides of your choice. 

Tips and Serving Suggestions

Tip: Use any unused rub by sprinkling over steaks, kebabs or roasting joints before cooking. 

Air fryers do vary, so adjust the cooking time according to your appliance handbook
