Ingredients

4 British boneless pork shoulder steaks (700g)
2 x 400g baked beans in tomato sauce
4 tablespoons prepared BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon dried mixed herbs or oregano
2 tablespoons black treacle or brown sugar

Method

Step 1

Put all the ingredients except the pork into the base of a large slow cooker.

Step 2

Season the steaks and add to the ingredients in the slow cooker. Gently coat well in the mixture. 

Step 3

Cook on HIGH for 4-6 hours, or 8-10 hours on LOW, or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 4

Serve with sides of your choice such as jacket or mashed potatoes, rice and seasonal vegetables.

Tips and Serving Suggestions

Any leftovers can be kept in the fridge for another day and is delicious served with baked potatoes, nachos, in wraps, or with eggs for brunch. 

This recipe works well with a 900g boneless pork shoulder joint, rind and skin removed. 

If preferred, replace the baked beans with 2 x 400g cans mixed beans and 1 x 400g can chopped tomatoes.
