This retro comfort food classic with pork loin steaks, bacon, BBQ sauce and cheese makes a tasty midweek meal for all the family.

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C Fan, 200°C, Gas Mark 6.
Step 2
Line a large ovenproof dish or shallow baking tray with foil or baking parchment.
Step 3
Season the steaks with pepper and wrap 2 bacon rashers around each steak, overlapping slightly. Transfer to a large ovenproof baking dish or shallow tray.
Step 4
Spread 2 teaspoons of the BBQ sauce over each pork steak, then sprinkle over the cheese.
Step 5
Cook in the oven for 15-20 minutes (depending on pork thickness) until cooked through and the meat juices run clear, and the cheese has melted.
Step 6
Serve with a combination of sides such as wedges, chips or mash and seasonal green vegetables.
If preferred, replace the bacon with thin slices of ham.
